SUSTAINABILITY
While climate change may have made it possible to produce still wines in the UK, it's impact on many other aspects of life and farming is negative.
We have a core belief in the need to live a sustainable life.
Many conventional vineyards use a wide range of chemical inputs and do not nurture the soil life Our goal is to try to become a carbon positive vineyard and to show there are ways of farming that put carbon back into the land rather than constantly depleting it.

WHY ORGANIC?
Our land has been farmed organically for over 45 years There is much talk of the impact of “terroir” on wines and how the grapes reflect the environment they are grown in. So there must be some relationship between the final wine and the chemicals and herbicides used to produce them in a conventional system.Organic certification is also a clear and trusted mark of how the grapes and wine have been produced. Why regenerative? Growing organically removes the use of herbicides, fungicides and pesticides from the vineyard but regenerative viticulture has a complimentary focus on improving soil life and biodiversity in the vineyard with a strong focus on supporting a diverse animal, plant, microbial and fungal life underground. We are part of the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation's "1 Block Challenge"
